Some of my items are missing or stolen. What should I do?

We understand how distressing it can be when your personal belongings go missing or are stolen. Your sense of security and peace of mind are important to us, and we want to guide you through the steps you can take in this situation.

Preventive Measures: We strongly recommend obtaining personal property insurance to protect the value of your possessions. While PadSplit cannot reimburse for lost property, insurance can provide that crucial safety net.

If You Suspect Theft: If you believe a PadMate may be responsible for missing items, here are steps you can take:

  • Rate Your PadMate
    • Notifies the Member of the issue, giving them a chance to address it 
    • Alerts your Host to the situation, who may take further action 
    • Impacts the Member's Score, which can have significant consequences
  • Document the Incident: Keep a record of what's missing and when you noticed it.
  • Contact Local Authorities: For significant thefts, consider filing a police report.
