My Host requested that I move out
Last updated November 4, 2024
At PadSplit, we believe in transparency about how our community works. Our Hosts independently own and operate their homes on the PadSplit platform, which means they have the right to issue a Notice to Vacate at any time. While we understand this news can be concerning, we're here to help you navigate this transition smoothly.
What This Means
- A Notice to Vacate ends your occupancy in a Host’s PadSplit on a certain date.
- Hosts may issue a Notice to Vacate with at least 14 days' notice. This provides time to arrange your next living situation.
- A Notice to Vacate can be given by a Host in response to issues you may have caused within the house or for reasons entirely unrelated to you, such as a property sale or renovation.
Your Options
-
Consider a Transfer: You may be eligible to transfer to another PadSplit home.* Learn more about transferring here.
-
Choose Your Move-Out Date: You can schedule a move out any time before the notice date. Early planning can help you secure your next home.
Important Reminder
- Continue your regular payments through your move-out date. This maintains your good standing and keeps your transfer options open.
- Move out by your notice date to prevent a Membership ban and/or eviction proceedings.
*Please note that your current Host’s other homes and rooms may not be available to you for booking.
