Looking for a short-term stay? PadSplit introduces Flexibility Commitments

September 19, 2024

As PadSplit continues to grow, we’re excited to announce our new Flexibility Commitments feature. This update is designed to provide more options for those seeking shorter stays while ensuring a fair and sustainable marketplace for all.

Understanding your needs

We know that life doesn’t always fit into neat, long-term plans. Many of you have expressed interest in shorter stays, and we’ve been working on a way to make this possible while balancing the needs of our hosts.

Introducing Flexibility Commitments

To address this, PadSplit is rolling out two important updates:

  1. Flexibility Fee for Shorter Stays

Starting September 10, all new move-ins for stays less than 12 weeks will include a $175 flexibility fee paid upfront. Here’s what you need to know:

  • This fee applies to stays shorter than 12 weeks.
  • It helps offset initial booking costs and ensures shorter stays remain viable for our hosts.
  • If you move out early (excluding transfers) without paying this fee, you’ll be charged 2 weeks of dues. Members can transfer anytime without penalty – a significant advantage.
  1. More Pricing Options To provide you with a wider range of choices:
    • Any potential price differences for shorter-term stays or multiple occupants will be clearly communicated in the listing description before booking.

What this means for you

These changes offer you more options for flexible living arrangements. While there may be additional costs for shorter stays, this new system allows hosts to offer these options more readily. You’ll have access to a wider range of accommodations, including shorter-term possibilities that might not have been available before.

We believe that Flexibility Commitments will create a more dynamic marketplace, benefiting both members and hosts. It allows for more diverse living options while ensuring transparency in pricing.

As always, we’re committed to evolving our platform to meet your changing needs. If you have any questions about this new feature or how it might affect your search for accommodation, please reach out to our support team at support@padsplit.com.

Stay tuned for more updates as we continue to improve your PadSplit experience!
