5 of the Best Tampa Neighborhoods to Settle Down

Ybor City

Ybor City is situated just northeast of downtown Tampa and is the only historic Tampa neighborhood on the West Coast to be designated a National Historic Landmark District. In fact, this area is a place to find 2,054 historic buildings. This neighborhood is known for its Cuban roots, fun trolley system, and restored brick roads. This is where you can eat at many independently owned restaurants, which includes the famous 115-year-old Columbia Restaurant.

Tampa Heights

Tampa Heights is the first suburb in the area and has 58 murals. It’s located just north of downtown and near I-275 and the Hillsborough River. This Tampa neighborhood is vibrant, diverse, and laid-back. Its historic Tampa neighborhood streets are lined with bungalows, breweries, award-winning coffee shops, breweries, and gorgeous parks.

The Tampa Riverwalk is located at the south end of the neighborhood and is a great place to ride your bike or take a walk. It’s also home to Armature Works, which is an old warehouse that is now a public market.

Seminole Heights

Seminole Heights is another historic Tampa neighborhood filled with bungalows. This local spot is located several miles north of downtown Tampa and is a short walk to the beach! The Tamoa neighborhood has a chill vibe.

Many musicians and local artists live in this historic Tampa neighborhood. The area is filled with eclectic shops and local studios. You can even visit the Second Sunday Morning Market every month where over 100 local vendors sell plants, produce, vintage clothing, art, street food, and more!

Temple Terrace

Temple Terrace is a Tampa neighborhood located next to both the University of South Florida and Busch Gardens. At times, traffic in the area can get a little busy. But this historic neighborhood is an affordable, up-and-coming Tampa neighborhood known for its quaintness and beautiful streets lined with oak trees.

In fact, this location was named Tree City USA by the Arbor Foundation back in 2008. The neighborhood is also currently investing in building up their downtown area, which is attracting a few local small businesses and restaurants.

Citrus Park

Citrus Park, a historic Tampa neighborhood, is away from the hustle and bustle of Tampa but still close enough that it’s easy to visit the heart of the city. Veterans Expressway runs right through Citrus Park, making it one of the best neighborhoods for commuters.

It’s in close proximity to the airport and different golf courses in the local area. The neighborhood is even home to attractions like the Citrus Park Mall, Logan Gate Dog Park, and Rocky Creek Trails Nature Preserve. This Tampa neighborhood is also known for its family-friendly vibe.
